From February 2020, Swapnaloke actively supported street dwellers, slum residents, rural marginalized people, and migrant labourers across Kolkata, Howrah, North 24 Parganas, Purulia, and Hooghly. During both waves of the pandemic, we distributed food items, cooked meals, and essential health and hygiene supplies. We also assisted with medical care, domestic help, and the continuation of education for underprivileged children.
Over 5,000 people benefitted from these services. Our efforts during this period were officially appreciated by the Press Information Bureau and the Regional Outreach Bureau (Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Ahmedabad), as well as by the All India Institute of Public & Physical Health Sciences (AIIPPHS). Swapnaloke and our President, Smt. Jeniya Talapatra, were both awarded certificates of recognition by these authorities.
